Your Role

As part of our engineering team, you’ll work with cutting-edge AI/ML to automate complex manual tasks, improving safety-critical processes across aviation. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll take ideas from inception to real-world deployment, shaping both our AI strategy and the future of aviation software.

This is a unique opportunity for a curious, self-motivated engineer, whether you’re completing a Master’s, PhD, or already have hands-on experience, who wants to see their work have a direct, large-scale impact.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive the full lifecycle of AI/ML solutions, from research/prototyping to deployment in production and monitoring.

  • Partner with product managers, subject matter experts, and engineers to enhance existing products and build new AI-powered features.

  • Deliver solutions that create tangible value for customers while laying the foundation for the UK AI Engineering team.

Job requirements

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for candidates with a background in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field (BSc, MSc, or PhD). You don’t need to have experience with everything, we’re excited to hear from curious, motivated engineers who want to grow and learn on the job.

 

You would have experience with some of the following technologies and areas:

  • Python and ML/NLP frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

  • Large/Small Language Models (LLMs/SLMs) and libraries like Hugging Face Transformers

  • Prompt engineering for tasks like summarization, Q&A, or information extraction

  • Fine-tuning transformer-based models (LoRA, PEFT, etc)

  • Speech recognition systems (Whisper, wav2vec 2.0, Kaldi, DeepSpeech)

  • Document AI / OCR tools (Tesseract, AWS Textract, Google Document AI)

  • Evaluation metrics for NLP/ASR/LLM tasks (WER, BLEU, ROUGE, perplexity, factual consistency)

Location: This role will be based out of our office in London. This is an on-site role with room for flexibility, because we know life doesn't always fit a 9-to-5 mould.
