Consultant Team Manager

Job description

The Consultant Team Leader oversees the day-to-day coordination, development and performance of the consultant team, ensuring training and consulting engagements are delivered efficiently and to the expected quality standards.

The role focuses on operational management of consultants, supporting their development and maintaining delivery standards across training programmes and client engagements, while escalating strategic capability or resourcing needs to the Operations Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day performance and development of the consultant team, including regular feedback, mentoring and performance discussions.

Coordinate consultant workloads and schedules to ensure consulting and training engagements are delivered effectively.

Monitor delivery quality across training and consulting engagements and escalate issues where standards are not met.

Support the implementation of the consultant competence framework by maintaining training records and tracking development progress.

Assist with recruitment and onboarding activities by organising and participating in interviews and supporting the integration of new consultants.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the appropriate consultant expertise is available for business development, marketing and product initiatives.

Maintain visibility of upcoming work and identify potential resourcing gaps for escalation to the Operations Director.

Maintain pipeline of consultants (including associate consultants)

Support the coordination of associate consultants involved in delivery activities.

Job requirements

Required Qualifications and experience:

·     Experience managing or supervising teams in consulting, training or professional services environments

·      Demonstrated ability to coach and support the development of junior professionals

·      Strong organisational and workload management skills

·      Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills

Desirable:

·     Experience working within aviation, safety management or regulated industries

·      Experience delivering professional training programmes

·      Experience coordinating consulting or professional services delivery

·      Familiarity with aviation safety management systems or safety risk management
