Your Role
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a strategic and operational partner to the leadership team, supporting the delivery of business objectives through people. This role reports to the Finance Director and will provide proactive HR support across the UK and Jersey region, working closely with senior leaders, managers, and employees. The HRBP will lead initiatives in talent acquisition, employee relations, organisational design, and employee engagement, while ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice, and will also collaborate closely with fellow HRBP to align practices, share insights, and deliver a consistent people strategy that fosters a high-performance culture and enhances the overall TrustFlight experience.
What you'll be doing
Strategic Partnership
Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to understand business priorities and develop HR strategies that align with organisational goals.
Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, and organisational design to ensure business resilience.
Act as a trusted advisor, challenging and supporting leaders in developing solutions to current and future people needs.
Work closely with the HRBP in Canada to align practices, share initiatives, and deliver a consistent people strategy across regions.
Employee Lifecycle & Relations
Lead and oversee the employee lifecycle: onboarding, induction, probation, performance monitoring, and offboarding.
Provide pragmatic advice and guidance on employee relations matters (grievances, disciplinary, performance management, absence, conflict resolution).
Ensure the fair and consistent application of HR policies and employment law across the region.
Talent Acquisition & Development
Support hiring managers to source, assess, and secure top talent, ensuring best practice recruitment.
Drive development initiatives including career pathways, coaching, and succession planning.
Support leadership with the design and delivery of learning and development opportunities tailored to business needs.
HR Operations & Compliance
Lead on HR administration including employment contracts, IR35 compliance, HR database management, pension and benefits administration, and payroll liaison.
Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with company values.
Use HR analytics and reporting to provide insight on key workforce metrics such as headcount, turnover, engagement, and performance.
Employee Engagement & Wellbeing
Champion initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Work with leaders to foster a positive, high-performance culture that reflects company values.
Support the creation of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and wellness initiatives.
Change Management & Projects
Act as a change agent, leading HR input into restructures, business transformation, and other people-related change programmes.
Manage strategic HR projects and initiatives at both Group and regional level.
Provide HR due diligence and integration support for acquisitions and organisational growth.
Job requirements
What You'll Bring
CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience).
Proven generalist HR experience (ideally 3+ years) within a fast-paced, commercial environment.
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law (experience with Jersey employment legislation desirable).
Experience in recruitment and selection across multiple levels and functions.
Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations cases and advising senior stakeholders.
Strong influencing and coaching skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
Skilled in using HR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Data-driven with experience of HR analytics and reporting.
Approachable, pragmatic, and resilient with excellent communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail, numeracy skills, and discretion when handling confidential information.
Location: This is an onsite role with flexibility, as we recognise that life doesn’t always fit a 9-to-5 mold. The position will be based out of our Doncaster office, with regular travel to Bracknell and occasional travel to other UK locations as required.
