Purpose of the Role:

The Principal Continuing Airworthiness Consultant is a senior technical leader responsible for shaping and delivering high-impact consulting, training, and product development in the Continuing Airworthiness domain.

This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence, ensuring clients move beyond compliance to achieve high-performing, efficient, and safety-driven organisations, while contributing to the company’s broader consulting strategy and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Strategy

·      Lead the development and evolution of Continuing Airworthiness consulting and training propositions

·      Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across CAMO, Part-145, Part-M / CAMO, and associated regulatory frameworks

·      Ensure all products and services remain aligned with regulatory developments and industry best practice

·      Monitor industry trends and translate them into new offerings, thought leadership, and client solutions

Client Delivery & Consulting

·      Lead complex consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality, profitable delivery and client satisfaction

·      Design and implement solutions that improve:

·      Maintenance programme effectiveness

·      Reliability programmes

·      Airworthiness review processes

·      CAMO / AMO organisational performance

·      Act as a trusted advisor at senior and executive level, influencing strategy and decision-making

Continuing Airworthiness Capability (Core Technical Expectations)

·      Apply deep expertise across:

·      EASA / UK CAA regulatory frameworks (Part-M, Part-CAMO, Part-145, Part-21 interfaces)

·      Airworthiness certification, ARC, CofA and regulatory compliance

·      Maintenance planning, reliability and technical services best practice

·      Lead clients to:

·      Improve safety, reliability, and operational performance

·      Develop effective management systems and competence frameworks

·      Optimise organisational design and resource utilisation

·      Transition from compliance-driven to performance-driven operations

Project & Commercial Leadership

·      Define project plans, budgets, and milestones

·      Ensure delivery meets financial targets (e.g. margin, utilisation)

·      Support pre-sales, proposals, and solution design

·      Identify opportunities for account growth and repeat business

People & Capability Development

·      Mentor and coach consultants, supporting technical and professional development

·      Conduct competence assessments and technical sign-off for Continuing Airworthiness capability

·      Contribute to internal CPD and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Quality & Continuous Improvement

·      Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS)

·      Drive continuous improvement in delivery standards and client experience

·      Lead or contribute to internal and external industry improvement initiatives

Thought Leadership & Market Influence

·      Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and regulatory forums

·      Produce white papers, articles, and technical content

·      Contribute to shaping industry thinking in Continuing Airworthiness

Job requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

·      Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in Continuing Airworthiness (CAMO, MRO, regulator or consultancy)

·      Deep knowledge of:

·      EASA / UK CAA regulations (Part-M, Part-CAMO, Part-145, Part-21 interfaces)

·      Maintenance, reliability, and airworthiness processes

·      Proven experience delivering consulting or advisory services

·      Demonstrated ability to operate at senior management / executive level

·      Experience leading complex projects and multidisciplinary team

Desirable Skills & Experience:   

Previous experience in a Principal / Lead Consultant role

·      Regulatory or Form 4 / Nominated Postholder experience

·      Experience influencing or working with regulatory authorities

·      Track record in product or service development

·      Strong network within the aviation industry
